The Treaty of Finsbury Park 2025

The Treaty of Finsbury Park 2025 is a multi-year, more-than-human LARP series I designed and facilitated as a contributing artist from 2021 to 2023 with Ruth Catlow and Max Dovey for Furtherfield Gallery. It depicts the story of the dawning of interspecies democracy and an era of equal rights for all living beings, where all species come together to organise and shape the environments and cultures they inhabit - in Finsbury Park, London, and urban green spaces across the UK, the world, and beyond.

The Interspecies Assemblies, 2022

Following some online and offline tester events in 2022, the first and second parts of the Treaty: The Interspecies Assembles & Vote consisted in rounds of online LARPs where humans played as one of seven mentor species (a tree, a bee, a goose, grass, a squirrel, a stag beetle and a dog) on Zoom. The very first of these assembles took place at the IAM Weekend 2021 Festival - Planet Earth edition, which I hosted with Ruth Catlow (video here).

The Interspecies Festival, 2023

During part 3: The Interspecies Festival and Treat of Finsbury Park, in-person rounds of LARPing took place in Finsbury Park in summer 2023 where voted-for festival activities (a multisensory tour of the Old Forest with an audio track; a meditative resting session in the New Forest; a game of ‘Pass the Poo Parcel’) were enjoyed by players new and old alongside protest songs - and presided over by my character Dry the London Plane tree, Scirius the squirrel and Chewy the dog.

In September 2024, The Treaty Signing Events took place in Finsbury Park - with sample experiences from the Festival and Tracy Kiryango’s docu-fiction film The Interspecies Festival of Finsbury Park 2023 as part of an exhibition at Furtherfield Gallery.
